Korean Idols Stole My Money

I was in bed last weekend, being super unproductive, when I realized I had yet to buy SHINee's new Japanese single. It's been out since August and usually I pre-order their albums before they're released. So why don't I have this album yet? Because I have no money. Part of that is because of school: books, tuition that wasn't covered by financial aid, GAS MONEY TO GET THERE. These are only some of the reasons my bank account is a bit on the low side. The other reason? Well..............

Those are just SHINee albums and they're not cheap AT ALL. The Japanese albums are always more expensive than the Korean albums. The concerts are TWICE as much. Sometimes, three times as much, but I buy them to support them! That and their music is REALLY good. I don't only buy SHINee albums though.

The big Super Show 4 concert was $150! I don't even like that group that much, but my sister wanted it so I bought it for her birthday. The rest were decent prices: all around $20 or $40. Albums and concerts are great, but what's the point of getting them if you don't get the posters or photo cards?

I prefer photo cards (small photos in the middle) to posters mostly because they come in the album and are FREE. Posters are usually $10 extra, so I've opted out of the poster option. To make things cheaper, I could just buy them on iTunes, but I wouldn't get the photo card or photo booklet that I get with the physical copy. I've only bought two albums on iTunes and that's because I was too excited to wait for my physical copy. Yes, I bought a digital copy AND a physical copy. To sum it all up, I'm a broke college student with an expensive hobby.

Side Note: I edited my Memoir post and added SHINee's Lucifer video. Go check it out!

  1. Your love for this music is interesting. If you're willing to start a collection of their music to support them then you are definitely in love. Go for what you love but don't go broke for it! Lol

    1. It's far too late. I've already gone broke! It's hard to have money and love k-pop at the same time. Ugh!

  2. Hilarious! I love the photos - they made me smile! And I did check out the "Lucifer" video - very cool. Wish I could dance like that :-) (by the way, did you check out the VIEW COUNTS for their videos - that is *insane*!)

    1. I love love LOVE the dance to "Lucifer"! It's still my favorite dance. I hadn't checked the view counts in a while so I was quite surprised! Oh, and my sister learned the dance. She performed it at her school's talent show~

    2. Stop it. That's amazing...I wish you had a video of her dancing! If I tried to do half those moves, I'd pull a muscle or fall over.

  3. I have never met anyone so interested in K-Pop, actually I didn't even know what K-Pop was until you talked about it in class. I just may listen to it if you tell me one of your favorite songs. I think it's officially time for you to get a savings account, so you can feed this addiction!

    1. You should definitely listen to K-pop! I really don't have a favorite song to be honest, but Dream Girl by SHINee is definitely worth checking out! What I really need is another job so I can buy everything SHINee has ever put out!! ^___^

  4. Completely agree with Kelvineisha and Chelsea's comments. I have never heard about K-Pop and now reading your blogs and listen to what you have to say in class, it sounds really legit. I would love know what your favorite song is so I could listen to it!

    1. Like I said to Chelsea, I don't really have a favorite song, but I love Dream Girl by SHINee. Also, I Got A Boy by Girls' Generation is a really good song and would probably hold your attention more since they're a girl group. XD
